Prepare a marinade from the pepper, thyme and oil. Season the wild boar with salt and rub the meat with the marinade. Wrap in foil and leave to marinate overnight in the fridge. Place in a baking pan together with the finely chopped onion and then pour over the wine and 200ml water. Cover and cook for 90 minutes in a very hot oven. Remove from the oven, add the sugar and the strawberries to the juice and then roast for a further half hour. Remove the meat from the pan, strain the juice and stir in the chopped figs. Serve the wild boar with the figs and sauce.
