Such a lovely name - 'Вртлог' (in Serbian Cyrillic) or 'Vrtlog' meaning vortex, whirlpool or whirlwind... Janko's Sauvignon Blanc from 2015 vintage is all I want from that variety! It has a magic color of gold with a subtle green hints underneath... The wine is fresh, crisp, extremely inviting... herbaceous & with a plethora of citrus notes... orange peel, lime...
So, make no mistake, Vrtlog is a powerful wine... and building blocks are its great acidity and exciting layers of complexity... yet the wine is harmonious... with a lingering aftertaste of grapefruit-related notes... 90+/100 points!
